Hammock Island Marina Rules & Regulations

Slip Holders and their guests agree to abide by the following general rules and regulations listed below.

This list may be revised at any time.

Vessels

  1. Operate your vessels and vehicles in a safe manner. 

  2. The marina is a No Wake Zone. 

  3. Adhere to clean boating practices and pollution prevention. 

  4. Boats are to be seaworthy, well kept, tidy and in compliance with all local and federal laws. 

  5. Slip holders are solely responsible for any damage they, their guests, their boat(s) or their vehicle(s) cause. 

  6. Only one boat shall be allowed in a slip. 

  7. Slip holders are required to keep their area clean and not impede piers, walkways or waterways at any time. 

  8. Sewage will not be pumped into marina waters, per Federal regulations. 

  9. Live-aboards are not allowed. In the event Marina believes this rule is not being properly adhered to, your slip agreement will be terminated. 

  10. It is the sole responsibility of the slip holder that their boat is properly secured to prevent damage to pilings, piers, bulkhead and other vessels. 

  11. Marina reserves the right to move any boat, in the absence of the owner, should an emergency situation arise. 

Facilities

  1. No swimming, bathing, fishing or crabbing from the piers, bulkheads or shoreline. 

  2. No crab pots, live boxes, minnow traps, etc., allowed. 

  3. Parking 

    • Parking is for slip holders and their guests only. 

    • Vehicle traffic is subject to a 5 MPH speed limit at all times. 

    • No trailers allowed. 

    • Park in specified areas (between reflectors). 

    A charcoal grill is provided for slip holder use (must clean after use). No other grilling or cooking apparatus is allowed on Marina grounds without prior written approval.

  4. Modifications or alterations to pilings, bulkhead or the docks are not allowed. Fenders and anti-chafe products may be attached to pilings and dock by lashing in a manner acceptable to Marina. 

  5. Fireworks, firearms, and illegal drugs are not allowed on or in any marina property or facilities. 

  6. No toxic chemicals or substances (other than over the counter cleaning products) shall be utilized or stored at Marina.

  7. All trash must be deposited into the marina dumpster. Nothing at all is to be thrown or poured into Bodkin Creek. The recycle bin accepts “loose” recyclables (do not place recyclables in a bag). 

  8. Scooters, skateboards, etc. are not permitted on piers, walkways or bridge. 

  9. Pets are welcome but must always be kept on a leash. Owner is responsible for cleaning up and disposing of their pet’s waste. Pets are not to be tied to the docks or walkways. 

  10. Gas or electric powered vehicles of any kind are not permitted on piers, walkways or bridge. ADA compliant mobility equipment is excluded from this rule. 

  11. No laundering or drying of laundry, including swim suits and towels is permitted on any deck or rigging of any vessel or on Marina facilities. 

Conduct

  1. Be respectful of the Marina facilities, fellow slip holders and the environment. 

  2. There is to be no conduct or activity that interferes with or endangers the safety, pleasure or comfort of neighbors, other slip holders or guests. 

  3. Slip Holders are responsible for the conduct of any and all persons using, visiting, or occupying their boat and the Marina facilities. 

  4. Noise will be kept at a minimum at all times. Slip holders and their guests shall use discretion in operating engines, generators, radios, stereos, televisions and other equipment, so as not to create a disturbance or nuisance. After the hour of 10:00 pm and before the hour of 8:00 am, a state of general quiet shall prevail. This includes pets. 

  5. Marina must be notified of any contractor visits. Contractors must have insurance certificates acceptable to and on file with Marina prior to starting any work. 

  6. Soliciting and advertising (including political) is not permitted without prior written approval. 

  7. Marina shall not be used for taking in or discharging persons for hire, rental of boats or freight carrying of any kind without prior written approval from Marina. 

  8. No commercial operations (including Charter boats) allowed without prior written Marina approval. 

  9. Slip holders and guests shall hold Marina, and its authorized representatives safe and harmless from any and all liability, injury, loss or damage.
